✨ Aji Oro Rocoto – The Golden Jewel of the Andes, with Black Seeds
The Aji Oro Rocoto is a rare variety of the Capsicum pubescens species, coming straight from the high altitudes of the Andes. This plant produces round-shaped fruits with a vibrant golden-yellow colour and a surprising interior: black seeds, a distinctive and fascinating feature of this uncommon species.
The flavour is fruity, fresh, and slightly citrusy, with moderate to strong heat that builds gradually and lingers. A pepper that combines beauty, flavour, and intensity in a single plant.
The leaves have a soft fuzz, and the flowers are purple — another typical trait of Rocotos. The plant is perennial (if protected from extreme cold), hardy, and highly productive, making it ideal for large pots or direct soil cultivation.
