The Aji Machu Pichu is a unique and flavourful pepper from Peru, named in homage to the famous Inca archaeological site. Belonging to the Capsicum chinense species, this variety combines a rich, slightly smoky and fruity flavour with moderate heat โ perfect for those who want warmth without losing flavour.
The fruits are elongated with thick walls, ripening from green to deep brown. Its heat level is around 50,000 SHU, enough to give presence to a dish but far from unbearable.
