Starfish Pitanga is an unusually decorative C. baccatum variety from Brazil. Its distinctive starfish- or pitanga-like shape combines exceptional visual appeal with fruity sweetness and heat concentrated near the centre.
Around 50,000 SHU, with much of the fruit’s outer points relatively sweet and crisp while the centre near the seeds is hotter.
Sweet, fruity and crunchy, recalling green apple, pitanga and delicate floral notes.
Its flattened, lobed, deeply scalloped fruits form a striking star shape and ripen from green to bright pitanga red. The tall, bushy plant is highly productive and ornamental.
Excellent stuffed with cheese, eaten fresh in salads, cut into decorative slices or pickled whole. Its appealing sweet-heat balance pairs well with lighter dishes and cheese boards.
A must-have for pepper enthusiasts and collectors who love unusual shapes.
Starfish Pitanga – SHU 50.000. Pack of 10 selected seeds, with a sticker identifying the species, origin and heat level.
